JV/Varsity Split with Oneonta

After a rough start the JV's pulled out an impressive victory over Oneonta. Meghan Spencer's second (of three) threes gave the Lady Devils the lead for good in the middle of the 4th quarter. The girls hung on with tough interior defense from Cassie Lord and Brittany Merriman. Lauren Guth, Emily Silverio, and Haley VanTassel did a great job down the stretch taking care of the ball. Coach Motel's JV's have now won 3 out of their last 4 games. Meanwhile the Varsity fell behind by as much as 15 points in the first half, but a late rally left them down by 9 points at half. The Girls closed it to 6 points in the second half. This team is SOOOO close to busting open with their first STAC victory.

This was a tough game for our girls and a game they will never forget. A moment of silence for Kelly O'Day preceded the game. The JV and Varsity girls wore green ribbon in their hair, and came early to make posters and decorate the gym with green paper wrap. Number 15 has a special place in all of our hearts!

ONEONTA 62, FORKS 43

Kate Jaffie and Marie O'Malley scored 18 points each as Oneonta won at Chenango Forks.

Michelle Grady scored 16 of her game-high 22 points in the first half as the Blue Devils trailed, 31-22, at the break. She also had 10 rebounds and four steals.
